TIMELINE

6 weeks (spring 24’)

LOGO AND BRANDING

This project falls vaguely in the sci-fi horror/thriller genre, and is meant to visually experiment with the merging of the mechanical and organic. Because of this, I drew inspiration from the mecha and cyberpunk aesthetics of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Akira, media known for contrasting the organic and mechanical. My final branding came out as merging of cyberpunk, gundam, and mecha, edited to be slightly more organic/modern with smoothed edges. Versions of the logo and type will begin to “glitch” as the exterior falls apart, so examples of how this happens visually have been developed as well.

COLOR

CHARACTER DESIGN

The mecha inspiration used in the branding carried into the character design, helping guide the shape language and patterns used in the suit.

COLOR PALETTE

A primarily green gradient pushes through the theme of flora/fauna/biodiversity, with pink as a ocntrast and to emphasize that the relationships between the nodes produce something unique and irreplacable.

COMMUNITY

In an effort to foster a sense of community, participants will be able to create a profile, displaying details such as a given name, location, field of study, or topics of interest. The information will be limited so as to keep coversations centered around the topic at hand, but will allow for some individuality and playfulness through profile characters. An interactive map on the landing site on the day of the festival will allow participants to see who is active around the world throughout the day.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Bringing the branding developed to a larger and more common application, social media.
